Built in 1922, this former vaudeville house and movie theater was restored and reopened as a leading-edge performing arts venue. It is in part of the Market Street Theatre and Loft District which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since reopening in 2018, the Golden Gate Theatre has presented an impressive lineup of stars including Madonna, and Broadway hits such as Waitress; A Bronx Tale; Beautiful: The Carole King Musical; Hello, Dolly! with Betty Buckley, Come From Away; and The Last Ship, starring 17-time Grammy Award-winning musician Sting.
